It was a cool and wet September morning, and Ken and I visited the local skeet and trap range here on base, with Carson &
Shawna. We had a very good time, and I have the bruise on my right
shoulder to prove it.
I never knew there was a difference between trap and skeet. Trap; the clay pigeon is shot out from a box sitting on the ground,
simulating a bird taking off. Skeet; the clay pigeon is simulating a bird in flight. We were suppose to shoot skeet, but
something a wrong with the launching device; so we shot trap instead. We shot about 25 rounds each from a 12 gauge trap shotgun.
We didn't keep any kind of score, but Carson, by far, was the better shot. Ken, you could tell had some hunting
experience, and Shauna was close behind him. I, although not as experienced, and half blind, did a pretty fair job of mutilating
the clay pigeons. I've must have hit two or three dead on, and clipped about 8 easily.
And like everything else we do, we have pictures and sites you can visit to learn more about this cool pass time.
